Trip to Fort Morgan

Got to make a trip down to Fort Morgan, AL and to stay at the Beach Club (www.beachclubal.com) for a few days. My sister had planned the trip while my mom was visiting them in Louisiana. Got to see my favorite niece, and she is always entertaining and I always try and get a few good pictures of her.

Also got to take some time to actually go see the fort that the area is named after. Very interesting location.

Another Crawfish Boil

Sometimes I really love my job. Anytime some good food comes with taking photos I always look forward to that. I got to shoot another Crawfish Boil and eat some great food. Besides the crawfish, they had, sausage, corn, and potatoes, and some gumbo. Here are a few shots of the food.

Crawfish Boil

I got to attend and shoot a Crawfish Boil this weekend. The guy cooking was from Louisiana and did a great job with the crawfish. Here are a few shots of those delicious crawdad's. Just looking at these is making my mouth water again.

You can see some steam coming off these, they had just come out of the pot.

Snow in Birmingham

Well they predicted snow, and I knew it would come, but was skeptical that it would stick or accumulate. Well it did but it wasn't around for long. In Birmingham its is always cold enough for snow in January and February but rarely does the moisture come thru to produce snow. It always seems that it isn't until March that we can get the right combination of conditions to produce snow. And it was odd, only about a week before it was in the 70's.

Mercedes Marathon

I got off my training schedule over Christmas and New Years with my travel to Louisiana and to Washington, so instead of running the Mercedes half marathon, I volunteered with the Birmingham Track Club at the 8 mile (and 21st mile for those doing the full marathon) water stop. I got to see a number of runners that I regularly run with at the Trak Shak on wednesday night, Todd, Kerry, Keith, Al, Brian, Heather, Scott S., just to name a few.
